Do You Accept Insurance?
I accept all auto accident Personal Injury Protection (PIP) insurers.
All sessions billed to an insurance company must have a prescription, referral, or pre-approval depending on the health plan.
There are numerous plans out there, each with different benefit packages and with different limitations on alternative healthcare. Most require a referral from a medical provider. Before you make an appointment it is very important that you call the number on the back of your insurance card and ask the following questions:
- What is my coverage for massage?
- Do I need a doctor’s referral or prescription?
- What is my co-pay or co-insurance?
- What is my deductible for the year?
- Has my deductible been met for the year?
Flexible Spending Accounts and Health Savings Accounts
Many FSA and HSA accounts provided by employers cover Massage Therapy under health and medical expenses. This is a great option for clients who’s insurance does not cover massage. Most Flexible Spending Accounts do not roll over annually… use it, don’t lose it!
